What makes someone open your email?

One could arugue that it all comes down to the subject line.

Today I received over 50+ promotion/social emails. That is how my Google inbox categorizes them. Most of these never get opened. Why? (beside the I don't have time) But mostly because they just didn't catch my eye - here is what did over the last few days:
