I don't think this is a word that most of us think about that much. We may grumble about new healthcare laws, the presidential election or that the cost of postage has gone up. But all 'these grumblings' that we have the opportunity to disagree, vote and speak aloud about...they came at price. That price was protecting our Freedom in the USA. That price was troops overseas. That price was protecting our country from further attacks and also going after anyone who should dare try to attack our nation.
Sobering to think about...isn't it?
That is Memorial Day. Remembering the Hero's that have gone before us. The Hero's that continue to protect our Freedom.
I am proud to live in this great nation. I may not agree day to day on how it is run - but would I want to live anywhere else?
So as we kick off our 'unofficial start' to summer, I leave you with this song lyric by Lee Greenwood (and darn it if this song doesn't always make me tear up and be proud at the same time!)
